Commentary	On 10 November 1621, Mr. Hugo Petit, schoolmaster, was appointed guardian over the children of Symon Willemsz. (WK 5073/513, fol. 189). On 30 May 1636, Hugo Petit, schoolmaster in the N.Z. Groote School, turned over to Pieter de Nes, public notary, the wages for his school teaching and the rents on his two houses, one on the Hooghstraet and the other on Betaniedwarstraet, to cover the interest on a Schepenkennisse (a loan supervised by the aldermen) for 2,215 f. and one other loan (NA 610, Not. Eyloff). On 26 June 1637, Claes Adriaensz. van Delft (the brother of Dirck van Delff I of INVNO 509), mason, 63, declared at the request of Annetge Claes, widow of Henrik Dircx, stone dealer, that the lime and stones that the producent (Henrik Dircx) had delivered in 1634 to Mr. Hugo Petit, schoolmaster, had been used to repair Petit's house located on the Bethanydwarstraet next to the oude Grasmaijer. Claes van Delft had worked on the repairs (NA 991, fol.41, Not. J. Bosch). Henrik Dircx may have been the son of Dirck Hendricksz
