Commentary	The painters Claes and Reynier Eewouts (or Euwouts), some times called De Bout, were the sons of Ewout Claesz. den Bout (buried in April 1606), who lived op 't Hooft, and of Catharina Cornelis. Ewout Claesz. was captain in the service of the Admiralty. They were the brothers of Magdalena Ewouts den Bout, who was betrothed on 2 April 1595 to Palick van Heerdt (Aelburg 1568-1617), captain in the service of the Admiralty. Claes Ewoutsz. was married to Gijsbertge Huybertsdr. (information kindly suppled by S. Middelhoek). For further bio data on Claes and Reynier Eewouts or Euwouts, see R 29021 of Montias 2.
