Introduction	Op ten 17e october 1609 syn ter ordonnancie van de heeren weesmeesteren vercoft de goederen achtergelaten by Jochem Dircksz.
Commentary	Jochem Dircksz. was a merchant who freighted one ship between 1590 and 1602 (IJzerman, Economisch-Historisch Jaarboek, vo. 31 (1617), p. 269). On 3 September 1609, Jan Cornelisz., former goldsmith (of R 28594) and Cornelis Pietersz. Can (brother of Pieter Pietersz. Can of R 21378 of Montias2) were named guardians of the estate of Jochem Dirxsz. (WK 5073/513, fol. 133). Jochem Dircksz. may have been the brother of Claes Dircksz. Schepel, cited in R 30126 of Montias2, who bought lots in this sale. Note that Jochem Dircksz. of this inventory cannot be identical with Jochem Dircksz. Muijsenest of R 33258 of Montias2 since the latter bought a lot in 1637.
