CommentaryThe soap boiler Bartholomeus Florisz. was the son of Floris Gerritsz. and of Cornelisgen Alberts and the brother of Jacob Floris of R 31446 of Montias2. His sister Neeltjen Floris married the engraver Claes Jansz. Visscher of R 22512 of Montias2. He freighted 3 ships between 1591 and 1602 (IJzerman, Economisch-historisch Jaarboek 17(1931), p. 269. On 6 March 1602, Barthelemeus Florissen, merchant in Amsterdam, freighted a ship for himself and for his company, de rato. On 22 March 1603, he freighted a ship in partnership with Marten Corsen.
