Introduction | Op den 3e may anno 1603 zyn ter ordonnantie van de heeren weesmeesteren vercoft de naervolgende goederen achtergelaten by Erm Jans weduwe van wijlen Jacob Romboutsz.
Commentary | Errem Jans was buried on 3 September 1602 (DTB 1052/210). Jacob Rombouts, who died before 1602, is not mentioned in the tax book of 1585 (Van Dillen, Amsterdam in 1585). It is possible but by no means certain that he was the father of Rombout Jacobsz. I (1550-1629), the father of Pieter Jacobsz. Indische Raven I of INVNO 666. He may also have been the brother of Willem Rombouts, married to Catharina Reygers, who was the father of Hans Rombouts of INVNO 200.
