CommentaryOn 25 April 1606, Antoine Marinus, pasteybacker (pastry baker), from Vlissingen, was betrothed to Josijntge van den Bremde, from Antwerp, 30 years old (DTB 411/736). Josijntge may have been a sister of the painter Daniel van den Bremde. In an Orphan Chamber document dated 3 July 1620, a rentebrief issued by Anthoni Mariniss, pasteybacker, for 62 f. was cited. It accrued to Meyndert the son of Egbert Claesz. Coninck (WK 5073/789). Anthoni Marinisz. was probably a close relative of Andries Overhagen, who was married to Anna Marines, the daughter of Josijntje Marines (see R 32697 of Montias2). Andries Overhagen (of R 32697) was a buyer of several lots at the auction of Cornelis van der Voort (INVNO 825). He paid a tax of 10 f. voor de erffenis in 1631, at which time he lived on the Appelmarckt (Kohier, fol. 261, p. 60). On 31 December 1617, Anthony Marinisz. and Josijne van den Bremde had a child baptized in the O.K. in the presence of Abraham de Decker, Guillam Michielsz., and Catlijntje van Doesburgh (DTB 5/236). Abraham de Decker (of R 33003) bought lots at this sale. He was then said to be a relative (vrund) of the deceased. Catlijntje (Catharina) van Doesburgh was apparently the widow of Govert Jacobsz. (ex Bastiaensz), hides dealer (huydecooper), with whom she had five children (WK 5073/789 of 16 December 1627) (See also R 34728 of Montias2).
