Introduction	Op den xvi april 1598 zyn ten versoucke van Herman Ysbrants ende hem als voocht van de nagelaten kinderen van Pieter Cornelisz. metselaer ende Mary Jansdr. zyn huysvrou vercoft de naervolgende goederen op 6 wecken.
Commentary	Pieter Cornelisz. metselaer (mason), in de Vijfhoeck in the St. Jacobsstraet, paid a tax of 8 f. in 1585. Herman IJsbrantsz., the guardian of his children, at whose request the inventory was drawn up, paid a tax of 12 f. He was a grain merchant, living near the Calverstraet. He used the last name Hem. He was a Regent of St. Pieters Gasthuis from 1602 to 1605. He was married to Maritge Hendricksdr. Loeff. He was a Schout of the city in 1575 (Van Dillen, Amsterdam in 1585, pp. 96 and 157; Elias, Vroedschap, p. 7). Herman Ysbrantsz. was the father of Ysbrant Hermansz. Hem of R 28963 of Montias2.
