CommentaryJacob Huych Thomasz. was appointed concierge of Amsterdam in 1587. He died in 1617 and was followed in his post by his son Thomas Jacobsz. Haringh, who was born in 1586 or 1587. The concierge was responsible for holding executoriale auctions of bankrupt individuals, while the bode of the Orphan Chamber supervised all other auctions approved by the Town Hall (I. van Eeghen, Het Amsterdamse Sint Lucasgilde in de 17de eeuw, Jaarboek Amstelodamum, 61(1969), pp. 73-4). A supplementary sale of his goods was held on 11 February 1618 (INVNO 808).
