Commentary | On 23 June 1622, Aper Harrewaijer (signs Herwayer, as in this INTRO) was betrothed to Anna Borth. He was assisted by his cousin and guardian Jacob Simonsz. Aper Harrewaijer was 22 years old at the time. He cannot be identical with Aper Claesz., the guardian of the children of Cornelis Herwayer, since he would only have been 14 at the time this sale took place. Aper Claesz., however, may have been his uncle. (DTB 424/161). The late Cornelis Herwayer, in turn, may have been the father of Aper Harrewaijer. Note that, on 20 March 1614, Aper Claesz. was named guardian over Meynsgen, the daughter of the late Cornelis Baers (WK 5073/513, fol. 142). On 6 February 1588, Aper Claesz., binnenlantsvarer (bargeman on inland waters), 29 years old, assisted by his father Claes Hansz., was betrothed to Pietertge Jans, 27 (DTB 662/103). On 23 March 1610, Aper Claesz., widower of Pietertge Jans, was betrothed to Trijntje Claes, widow of Anthonie Verbruggen (DTB 414/261). |
