Commentary | On 22 December 1612, Ambrosius Jansz., from Haarlem, wine dealer, 21, living op den Dam, was betrothed to Gertruyd Pieters, assisted by her mother Josyntge Claes (DTB 416/339). On 20 September 1628, Ambrosius Jansz., wine dealer, brought 325 f. to the Orphan Chamber on behalf of the children of the wine dealer Pieter van Balen of R 27417, who was buried on 6 April 1621 (see the NOTES to R 27417 of Montias2 and WK 5073/789). On 30 November 1630, the widow of Ambrosius Jansz., who was carrying on her late husband's trade on the Rockin, was insinuated along with many other wine dealers (NA 910). The widow of Ambrosius Jansz. was betrothed to the jeweler and goldsmith Hans Jansz. (of R 21745) on 5 April 1631 (DTB 437/145). She claimed that she had been a widow 41 months at the time of remarriage, but this may have been a slight exaggeration. In any case, Ambrosius Jansz. must have died not long after his presentation before the Orphan Chamber. |
