Commentary | From the inserted list of debts owed to the estate, we may infer that Daniel (de) Bisschop was the son of Bartholomeus Bisschop and the brother of Abraham Bisschop (as well as of Jacob Bisschop, cited below). On Abraham Bartholomeusz. Bisschop, see the NOTES to R 20543 in Montias2. On 30 October 1630, Daniel Bisschop, from Amsterdam, merchant, 32 years old, with no living parents, assisted by his brother Jacob Bisschop, living on the Heeregracht, was betrothed to Jannetje Schonevels, from Amsterdam, 19, assisted by her godmother Judith Hendrix and her uncle Norbert Monnix (?) Schyta (?) (DTB 436/193). He was buried in the O.K. on 20 January 1654, coming from the Heregracht. The sum of 8 f. were paid on his behalf to the church (DTB 1046/33). For more details, see R 7629 of Montias2. |
