Art dealer, writer and owner of the Sylvan Cole Gallery, Cole was a print dealer who specialized in American printmaking.
In 2005, Cole's personal library of more than 500 books including catalogues raisonnés and volumes on the history of printmaking were acquired by Syracuse University's Art Collection.
