William Kissam Vanderbilt (1849-1920) was an art collector and son of William Henry Vanderbilt (1821-1885) and Maria Louisa Kissam (1821-1896). He was married to Alva Eskrine Smith Vanderbilt Belmont (1854-1933) and the brother of Cornelius Vanderbilt (1873-1942).
William Kissam had three houses designed by Richard Morris Hunt; his townhouse at 660 Fifth Avenue, NY, "Idle Hour" in Oakdale, Long Island, NY, and "Marble House" in Newport, RI.
His art collection included work by, among others, Rembrandt, Hans Holbein, Pieter de Hooch, Cuyp, Willem van de Velde the Younger, Boucher, Ludolf de Jongh, Jean Baptiste Greuze, Joshua Reynolds, Thomas Gainsborough and several works were left to The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
