Industrialist, art collector, bibliophile, publisher, and theatrical producer.
His father was Walter P. Chrysler, Sr. The elder Chrysler, a noted automobile designer, was president of Buick Corporation, executive vice president of General Motors and founder of the Chrysler Corporation.
Chrysler's collection included work by Picasso, Braque, Gris, Matisse, Leger and others. He later also acquired signifcant works by Charles Burchfield, John Marin and Thomas Hart Benton.
