Mary Elizabeth Johnston, a Procter and Gamble heiress, was a modern art collector who left her collection to the Cincinnati Art Museum.
Johnston’s art collection included paintings by, among others, Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Modigliani, Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Juan Gris, Piet Mondrian, Ben Shahn, Georges Henri Rouault, Nicholas de Stael, and Max Ernst.
