historical notes Billy Rose was an art collector, producer, and lyricist who founded the Billy Rose Sculpture Garden in Jerusalem.

Rose's collection included work by, among others, Rubens, Ambrosius Holbein, Titian, Van Dyck, Metsys, Reynolds, Puga, Modigliani, Isamu Naguchi,

"The Billy Rose Art Garden was designed by Isamu Noguchi and includes works by contemporary artists are added on a regular basis, and the garden offers an experience of the major developments in modern sculpture, from the late 19th century to the present, featuring such masterpieces as Rodin’s Adam, Henry Moore’s Vertebrae, and James Turrell’s Space That Sees. Among the many other artists represented are Aristide Maillol, Alexander Archipenko, Jacques Lipchitz, Pablo Picasso, David Smith, and Claes Oldenburg."
