Collector, artist and author.
Dale with her husband, Chester Dale, collected 19th and 20th century art works including French Impressionism. She was the driving force behind the Dale collection and had initiated Chester's interest in collecting art.
She was a member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Chicago Art Institute, Philadelphia Museum of Art and Workers Art Club for Women. The French Government, due to her interest in French Art, made her Chevalier of the Legion of Honor. Her first marriage was to Murray Thompson of New York.
