Alexander McBurney Byers was an art collector, millionaire, iron manufacturer, financier, and president of both A M Byers Company and National Iron Bank of Pittsburgh.
Byers' collection included work by Gainsborough, Turner, Rousseau and Corot. R Knoedler assisted Byers with his art purchases.
Maude J. Denniston Lyons was the daughter of A M Byers.
