historical notes Mary Berenson was a collector, art historian and wife of the art expert Bernard Berenson.

Berenson was married twice; first in 1885, to the Scots-Irish Benjamin Francis Conn "Frank" Costelloe (1855-1899), and to Bernard Berenson in 1900. She used the name Mary Logan as a pseudonym and her nickname in youth was "Mariechen."
