Collector, art critic, international curator, and art expert. Cofounder and first president of the Chester County Art Association.

Brinton championed the work of Russian, Spanish and Serbian art.

He collected paintings, sculpture, and graphic art by Russian, European and American artists in addition to costumes, textiles, art objects, toys, books and pamphlets. His collection was given to the Philadelphia Art Museum in 1941.
