The Alsdorfs collected 20th century European paintings, antiquities, Indian, Himalayan and Southeast Asian art.
Marilyn Alsdorf and her husband began collecting after they married in the 1960s.
Alsdorf donated 400 Indian, Himalayan and Southeast Asian works of art to the Chicago Art Institute in 1997.
