Architect, author, painter, former curator of the Hispanic Society of America in New York, and Spanish art expert and dealer.
An american expatriot, Byne and his wife Mildred moved to Madrid in 1916. He sold European bric-a-brac to Americans, especially to William Randolph Hearst.
He sold the Santa Maria de Ovila to William Randolph Hearst.
