Davis’ collection included work by, among others, Théodule-Augustin Ribot, William Gedney Bunce, Narcisse Virgilio Díaz de la Peña, Jules Lefebvre, Gustave Courbet, Paul Jean Clays, Jules Dupré, Jules Bastien-Lepage, Jean-François Millet, Eugène Delacroix, Charles- François Daubigny, Julian Alden Weir, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Édouard Manet, Camille Pissarro, Claude Monet, and Edgar Degas. Davis sold a portion of his collection in March of 1889, via Ortigies & Co. at Chickering Hall.
