historical notes Catholina Lambert was a collector, silk manufacturer, president of the Merchants Loan and Trust Co. of Paterson, NJ, a director of the Ninth National Bank of New York City, president of the Silk Association of America and one of its organizers.

Lambert collected porcelain, Oriental rugs, marble and wood carved columns, paintings, and sculptures. Portions of Lambert’s collection of paintings were exhibited at both New York's Lotos (1899) and Union League Clubs (1903).

Lambert owned the following works of art which were auction via the American Art Galleries in the Grand Ballroom of New York's Hotel Plaza from February 21 to 24, 1916:

Catholina was married twice, he first married Isabella Eldridge Shattuck in 1857, they had eight children and seven of their eight children predeceased them. Two years after his first wife died he married her widowed sister, Harriet Estelle Shattuck Bibby (d.1916).

Lambert was a member of the Union League, of Manhattan, the Lotus and the Republican Clubs of New York City, of the Hamilton Club, Paterson, and of the Board of Trade.
