Art collector, patron and philanthropist.
Mari Yoriko Sabusawa was born and raised in Las Animas, Colorado; she married James Albert Michener on October 23, 1955 in Chicago.
After the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, Mari Sabusawa and her family along with 100,000 other Japanese Americans were forced to live in internment camps.
