Reverend Theodore Pitcairn was an heir to the Pittsburgh Plate Glass fortune,a Swedenborgian minister, philanthropist, and art collector. His art collection included work by Monet, El Greco, and Van Gogh, which he later sold to underwrite his various philanthropies.
