An art collector, Jerry Speyer, is an executive and founder of Tishman Speyer Properties. In addition to collecting art he owns the Chrystler Building, Rockefeller Center along with many other real estate holdings in NYC.
Speyer buys art for both his private collection and for the public areas of some of his buildings. His collection of contemporary art includes pieces by Eric Fishl, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Franks Stella, Julian Schnabel , Takashi Murakami, and Rob Pruitt, among others.
His Upper East Side house was designed by contemporary architects Billie Tsien and Tod Williams. He has placed Jonathan Borofsky’s “Walking To the Sky” and Jeff Koons’ “Puppy” atop the Rockefeller Center skating rink.
