Vivian Orleans Potamkin was a philanthropist and collected American Art with her husband, Meyer.

"In 2000 she and her husband gave the Philadelphia Museum of Art seven oil paintings and one watercolor, a collection that included one work by each member of the group of major American artists known as the Eight: William Glackens, Robert Henri, George Luks, Everett Shinn, John Sloan, Arthur B. Davies, Ernest Lawson and Maurice Prendergast."
