Sharon and her husband Jay (John Davison Rockefeller, III) are collectors of 19th-century American art with an emphasis on Impressionism (The ARtnews 200 Top Collectors, 2007).
In addition to being an art collector, Rockefeller, is a philanthropist, businesswoman and has served or is serving on the boards of PepsiCo, The Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and Johns Hopkins Medicine.
