Dr. Martin L Gecht was a businessman, physician, hotel owner, real estate developer, trustee of the Chicago Art Institute and art collector.
Gecht and his wife, Francey, collected works on paper by European and American modernists and included work by Braques, Degas, Matisse, Picasso, Villon, Balla, Balthus, Calder, Gorky, de Kooning, Nolde, Pollock and Severini.
