Bernon S. Prentice was a financier and art collector who owned anestate and summer residence in Holmdel, New Jersey, known as Ramanessin Brook Farm.
Prentice collected American and English paintings: including the Steigerwalt-Packer-Hart portrait of Washington by Gilbert Stuart, Currier & Ives & other prints which were put on public auction after his death.
In addition to fine art he collected furniture, rugs, books, china, glassware, silver, linen, clothing, and art objects.
