historical notes Armand Grover Erpf was an art collector, patron, served on the board of the Chamber of Music Society of Lincoln Center and trustee of the Whitney Museum of American Art, businessman, senior partner in the investment firm of Loeb, Rhoades & Co., and at the time of his death the financial architect of New York Magazine.

Erpf's collection ranged from ancient Chinese snuff bottles to avant-garde moderns.
