Richard Beatty Mellon was an art collector, banker, industrialist, and philanthropist (also referred to as R. B. Mellon). Mellon was married to Jennie Taylor King and their son was Richard K. Mellon (1899-1970).
Mellon's collection included work by Van Dyck and Bartolome Eseban Murillo (The Beggar Boy by), and Louis Comfort Tiffany.
