In 1912 bookseller, Ferdinand Möller, marries painter Maria Garny, and begins dealing art by joining Galerie Ernst Arnold in Dresden, by 1917 he has opened his first gallery in Breslau, Germany.

In 1918 he opens his Berlin branch and in 1920 his Breslau gallery closes. Möller moves his family and gallery to Potsdam, in 1924 and in 1927, he reopens his Berlin gallery.

In 1938, Möller is authorized to sell the art works confiscated from German museums as part of the ‘Degenerate Art’ campaign, along with dealers Karl Buchholz, Hildebrand Gurlitt, and Bernhard Alois Böhmer, by the propaganda ministry.

Due to bombings in Berlin in 1943, Möller moves his family and gallery to Zermützel, Switzerland; and in 1949 he moves to Cologne where he opens his gallery in 1951.
