Weiner’s art collection included work by Jean Arp, Francis Bacon, Harry Bertoia, Reg Butler, Alexander Calder, Anthony Caro, Lynn Chadwick, John Cook, Edgar Degas, Lia DiLeo, Elizabeth Frink, Roger Gillet, Dimitri Hadzi, Franz Kline, Alexander Liberman, Jacques Lipchitz, Jim Love, Gerhard Marcks, Marino Marini, Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi, Gene Owens, Eduardo Paolozzi, Raymond Parker, Eros Pellini, Pablo Picasso, Dio Pomodoro, Evaline Sellors, Shinkichi Tajiri, Rufino Tamayo, William Turnbull, Charles Umlauf, Peter Voulkos, Charles Williams, James Wines, and Jack Zajac.

Weiner was a member of the Art Commission of the city of Fort Worth, and served on the board of directors of the Fort Worth Art Association, the Fort Worth Civic Opera Association, the Fort Worth Children's Museum (later the Fort Worth Museum of Science and Historyqv), the Reeder School, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Association, and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Foundation.

He also served on the board of directors of the Texas Association for Mental Health and St. Joseph Hospitalqv in Fort Worth. The West Texas Chamber of Commerceqv recognized his contributions with the Culture Award in 1967.

Weiner married Margaret Lucile Clements (known as Lucile) on September 15, 1938; they had one daughter, Gwendolyn (known as Gwen).

Weiner's Fort Worth home was sold in the early 1970s, and the Weiner art collection is now owned by Gwendolyn Weiner. Individual works from the collection are on long-term loan to the Palm Springs Desert Museum, the Museum of Texas Tech University, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
