historical notes Julius "Jules" Oehme was a New York City art dealer. He began his career with Knoedler and Co. in 1861 and later opened his own gallery, Julius Oehme Art Galleries, on Fifth Ave between 35th and 36th Streets.

Oehme dealt primarily in paintings by contemporary foreign artists.
