Katherine "Kate" Lester Lamar Crawford was an artist, art collector and patron.
Crawford studied art in Paris and her collection included paintings and sculpture by, among others, Van Dyke, Kunz-Meyer and Bougereau.
Crawford held salons and opened her own art gallery in her home. She hosted lectures, special exhibitions, musical performances and receptions for visiting artists.
Crawford married twice; first to Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar in 1879, and in 1896 she married her second husband, William Lyne Crawford (1839-1920).
