Horatio Victor Newcomb was an collector, businessman and banker.
Much of Newcomb's artwork was sold at an auction, Mendelssohn Hall, March 1903, by American Art Galleries (New York Times, March, 14, 1903).
According to The Art Treasures of America, Newcomb owned works by L. Alma-Tadema, W. A. Bouguereau, J. G. Brown, L. Bruck-Lajos, C. Chirico, Sidney, Cooper, L. Courtat, Paul Delaroche, E. Frère, L.
