historical notes

Freeman A. Ford, vice-president of the Pasadena Ice Company and later director of the Pasadena branch of the First Security National Bank, commissioned a house by Greene & Greene in 1906. The remarkable entrance door is a wooden frame in a stylized human figure surrounding an art glass peacock-feather design in blue, green and cream. The interior massing of the rooms and the Greene-designed details, fixtures, and ornaments enhance the spectacular views of the ravine and the hills. The house was completed in 1908. |
