Paul Kantor was a gallery owner/investor (Fraymart amd Paul Kantor Gallery), private art dealer who has been credited with discovering artist Richard Diebenkorn.
Kantor mounted the first Los Angeles exhibitions of Robert Motherwell, Mark Rothko, Adolph Gottlieb, William Baziotes and Willem de Kooning.
Art dealing was a family affair and both his wife,Ulrike Kantor, and son, Neils Kantor, owned and operated art galleries in the Los Angeles area.
