Allan Stone was an art collector, dealer and lawyer.
Stone opened his gallery in 1960 and both collected and sold work by, among others, Willem de Kooning, John Chamberlain, John Graham, Franz Kline, Arshile Gorky, Barnett Newman, Joseph Cornell, and Wayne Thiebaud.
S
tone also collected African, Folk art and automobiles—at one time owning close to 30 Bugatti automobiles.
