Brigadier–General Lawrason Riggs was a financier, real estate investor, and fine art print collector.
Riggs collection included work from the German, Dutch, Italian, French, English and American schools as well as with Chinese color woodcuts. His included an emphasis of prints by Rembrandt van Rijn, including 45 prints, and Albrecht Duerer including 57 prints by Duerer.
