Samuel Borchard was an art collector, financier and real estate operator.
Borchard collected Dutch paintings including work by or attributed to, among others, Willem van de Velde the Younger, Pieter Brueghel the elder, Pieter de Hooch, and Cornelius de Witte.
He was married to Eva Borchard, nee Rosenfield, and his daughter Evelyn also collected art.
