Mary "Hoytie" Hoyt Wiborg was an art patron, collector, critic, amateur playwright, and served as a nurse in WWI.
Hoytie, as she was called, purchased modern European and American paintings and her collection included work by, among others, Giorgio de Chirico, Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, Maurice de Vlaminck, Madeleine Luka, Cecil Beaton, and Leon Bakst.
Wiborg was the daughter of Cincinnati manufacturer Frank Bestow Wiborg, 1855-1930, of Ault and Wiborg Ink Co.); and sister to Sara Murphy, 1883 – 1975, (socialite and wife of Gerald Murphy, 1888 – 1964).
