John Francis Count McCormack was an operatic tenor, naturalized American citizen, and an art collector.
McCormack collected paintings and rare violins. He owned work attributed by, among others, Rembrandt van Rijn, François Boucher, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, J. McCormack first rented then purchased Moore Abbey, which had belonged to Lord Drogheda, stocked it with his art collection, and lived there from 1925-1939.
