The June Kelly Gallery is a Black-owned gallery located in the historic SoHo district of New York City. Established in 1987, the gallery represents a diverse group of emerging, mid-career and established artists who have achieved international recognition and acclaim, including Mark Alsterlind, Norman Lewis, Elise Asher, Lisa Mackie, Karin Batten, Berrisford Boothe, Claire Moore, Stan Brodsky, John L. Moore, Moe Brooker, Elie Nadelman, Elizabeth Catlett, Sky Pape, Larry Potter, Claudia DeMonte, Debra Priestly, Bruce Dorfman, Calvin Ramsey, Andrew Eccles, Robert Reid, Joan Giordano, Edwin Ruda, Alex Harsley, LeRoy Henderson, Hanibal Srouji, Marianne Hopf, Julio Valdez, Frances Hynes, Derek Walcott, William H. Johnson, Alma Woodsey Thomas, Victor Kord, Ron Walton, Philemona Williamson, Sandra Lerner, and Nola Zirin. The gallery specializes in contemporary paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography, and assists corporations, other entities, and individuals in building collections. The gallery has been reviewed in leading publications that cover the art world, and has exhibited at several prestigious art fairs in the United States.
June Kelly, the gallery director, is a member of several prominent art organizations and was involved in managing the career of artist Romare Bearden for 13 years. In 1996, the gallery became the first African-American art dealer to become a member of the Art Dealers Association of America. |
