Bennie F. Johnson is the Executive Director of AIGA, the professional association for design. He is also an active member of various arts and cultural boards, including the Smithsonian Institution's Anacostia Community Museum. Bennie, along with his partner Kera, is known for his impressive collection of contemporary art primarily featuring abstract and conceptual works by artists of color. Their collection, which includes works by prominent artists, such as Sam Gilliam, Howardena Pindell, Kara Walker, and Eric N. Mack, resides in their Anacostia home. |
