Eleanore Block Saidenberg was an art collector, co-owner of Saidenberg Gallery (opened in New York in 1950, closed in June 1999), and professional dancer (formed a modern dance group in Chicago and performed at the Goodman Theatre).
Eleanore married Daniel Saidenberg (1906-1997) in 1934, the couple began collecting art in the mid-1940s and shortly after moving to New York City opened the Saidenberg Gallery. The Saidenbergs both represented and collected work by, among others, Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Henri Laurens, Fernand Léger and Paul Klee.'
The Saidenberg's art collection sold for $70.3 million via Sotheby's, New York in 1999.
