Moses Tanenbaum was a collector, and insurance man whose daughter, Hortense Ferne, was a painter, etcher, and lithographer; New York, N.Y.
Among others, Tanenbaum's collection included work by Thomas Moran, E L Henry, Charles Warren Eaton, William Hart, J Carleton Wiggins, Henrietta Ronner, Jehan Georges Vibert, Henry P. Smith, E. Berne Bellecour, Adolph Schreyer, Cazin and Decamps.
Paintings from Tanenbaum's collectino were sold at an auction in 1906 via the American Art Association and in 1938, paintings from his estate were sold via Park-Bernet.
