Art and book collector; president and chairman of the board of the luxury retailer Neiman Marcus (New York Times).
According to the Neiman Marcus Group website, Stanley Marcus, was an avid collector with eclectic taste he acquired fine art from around the world. Marcus and his wife Linda, an anthropologist, sold their collection of Southwestern art in 1998 via Sotheby's, NY.
In addition to being a private collector, Marcus was the founder of the Neiman Marcus Art Collection (1951).
